This course is being funded by the Violence Reduction Partnership for staff in every Liverpool, Sefton, Wirral, St Helens and Knowsley primary schools.
The ROAR Response is an evidence-based resilience focused mental health response model, created specifically for primary schools to support the whole school in developing and supporting children’s mental health. It aims to equip the staff member with signs and symptoms of a child experiencing mental distress and will also gain more insight into ways they can respond and build resilience for the school. ROAR also acknowledges the impact of ACE on Children’s lives and provides tools which can support building resilience.
Delegates will get access to a range of useful tools which can support the monitoring of mental health and also self-care strategies.
The ROAR teacher’s training programme is a one-day course that will equip staff to implement ROAR across the whole school. The course will cover the following:
● Children’s mental health and an introduction to the ROAR response.
● Specific areas of concern such as anxiety, low mood/depression, behaviour as communication and parental mental distress.
● Access to whole-staff CPD and parent sessions for you to deliver in your school.
● A selection of lesson plans and resilience-based.
