About this course

Delivered by The MYA RAISE Team, this course is for professionals who want to learn more about the impact of racial trauma on children and young people’s mental health. We are inviting you to attend and create a reflective safe space to raise the awareness and understanding of Racial Trauma through conversations and honest, reflective activities. On the course we will guide you on how to do this via the following modules:

Module One:  Creating a Safe Space – where racial trauma can be acknowledged, voiced and visible. Reflecting on language and terminology.

Module Two: Oppression – What is it? Recognising the social graces model.

Module Three: Racial Trauma – what do we mean? What can we see in our young people? What are we not seeing and failing to understand. Reflecting on the importance of relational and systematic reflection.

Module Four: Allyship – What is it? How do we use our power of being an Ally?

Module Five: Working towards being trauma informed through a racial lens.
